Berkshire Wind Project
Hancock, MA
The Holden Municipal Light Department is part owner of a new wind power generation project called Berkshire Wind. The project is currently under construction atop Brodie Mountain located in the western MA town of Hancock. Once completed, 10 wind turbines will produce 15,000 KW of clean, renewable, wind power. Holden will share the total energy generated with other municipally-owned MA electric departments through a cooperative agreement with the MA Municipal Wholesale Electric Power Corporation.
