MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF ASSESSORS

1. Acceptance of Minutes
Motion by B. Potvin Kenniston, seconded by J. Dillon. It was voted to approve the minutes of May 21, 2007 meeting.
2. Miscellaneous Items
Miscellaneous Discussion Items
The Registrar of Motor Vehicles notified the assessors of problems with the issuance of excise bills for the last two years on high-end vehicles. Values had not been established for some vehicles so the registry issued no bills. They will be correcting this situation shortly.
FY2008 Preliminary Tax Bills will be mailed on June 29, 2007. First quarter tax bills will be
due on August 1, 2007.
Rosemary Johnson will begin working as assistant assessor/data collector full time on July 2, 2007. She will attend the Massachusetts Assessors’ School at the University of Massachusetts in August.
The Principal Assessor will prepare the second and final Supplemental Tax Bills on New Construction for FY2007. Bills will include occupancy permits issued from January 1, 2007 to June 30, 2007.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday, July 30, 2007 at 4:30 P.M.
